Apple has rolled out the fifth public beta of iOS 18, along with beta 5 updates for iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and other platforms. These updates, now available for all users enrolled in Apple’s public beta program, follow the release of companion developer betas earlier in the day. Users already participating in the beta program can find the new updates in the Software Update section under Settings on their devices.

The release of beta 5 follows last week’s beta 4, which brought several notable changes, including the renaming of Apple Music’s Browse tab to New, a new dedicated Bluetooth control in Control Center, and integration of app icon tinting with wallpaper and Lock Screen settings. Additionally, dark mode icons now display correctly in notification banners, and various Control Center icons have been redesigned.
According to Gurman, further changes are unlikely before the September launch. The primary focus now is to ensure the stability of iOS 18, with Apple prioritizing bug fixes over new feature developments in the final stretch before the official release.
