WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, has unveiled a new feature called “Favorites.” This innovative filter is designed to help users quickly find chats from their most important contacts and connect with them directly from the top of the calls tab. WhatsApp introduces Favorites feature, which started its rollout on Tuesday and will be available to all users in the coming weeks. This feature aims to streamline the process of accessing conversations with close friends and family members, providing a more efficient way to stay connected.

Enhanced Chat and Call Experience

The new “Favorites” filter allows users to consolidate all chats from their best friends or family groups into one convenient location. This makes it easier to access these important conversations without scrolling through an extensive chat list. Additionally, WhatsApp introduces Favorites feature in the calls tab, enabling users to speed-dial their preferred contacts. This eliminates the need to sift through recent call logs or search through the contacts book, significantly enhancing the user experience.

To add a contact or group to the favorite list, users can select the “Favorites” filter from the chats screen or tap the “Add Favorite” option after selecting the particular contact or group from the calls tab. Another method involves long-tapping a chat and selecting “Add to favorite.” Moreover, WhatsApp provides an option to manage favorite contacts and groups through the Settings menu. Users can navigate to Settings > Favorites > Add to Favorite and reorder their favorites based on personal preference at any time.

WhatsApp Introduces Favorites Feature: Testing and Previous Updates

The development of the “Favorites” feature began earlier this year. According to reports from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp tested the feature on iOS and the web in February, followed by testing on Android in April.WhatsApp introduces Favorites feature as a continuation of its efforts to improve user experience with chat filters. Three months ago, WhatsApp launched initial chat filters, including “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups.” The addition of the “Favorites” filter now provides users with a more comprehensive tool to quickly call or video chat with their preferred contacts, eliminating the need for alternative methods.

This latest update highlights WhatsApp’s commitment to enhancing its platform and ensuring users can easily stay connected with those who matter most. As WhatsApp introduces Favorites feature to more users, it is expected to simplify interactions with close contacts, reinforcing WhatsApp’s position as a leading communication tool.
